One Million Finnish Passports« (1995).

Alfredo Jaar didn’t use mirrors, lightboxes, or other things that glow in the dark as he used before. He uses above exhibition to displayed one million passports, this great collection symbolized the restrictive nationalism of Finland.Compare to the other western nations, Finland has the lowest number of immigrants and refugees.  He uses  6000 real Finnish passport to create above artwork. It was an ironic reflection of the nation’s exclusive immigration policies.

All of us saw ”Last supper” befor, but it’s the first time for me to realize that’s a perspective drawing. Perspective Drawing is an application of geometry that artists use to arrange the layout of space in a picture. For many centuries, artists have been inspired by the visual beauty and order that exists in geometry and they have used it in many ways to help the composition of their art. There is no greater nor more obvious example of this than Leonardo’s ‘Last Supper’. Perspective, first developed by Brunelleschi around 1420, was a new drawing technique when Uccello produced this image. Today, this chalice is a strangely prophetic drawing because it seems to predict the use of wire frame images to visualise forms in 3D software, five and a half centuries later. Were the original designers of these programs influenced by this image?

Here’s a piece of work done by Bruce Conner entitled “BOMBHEAD”, it was scanned using the original negatives of a portrait of Bruce Conner by Edmund Shea and an atomic bomb photo from the National Archives, Library of Congress. It was digitally edited by Bruce Conner and Donald Farnsworth at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, California. The printing was done on an Epson 9600 piezo printer using gray and black pigmented ink. Bruce Conner accidently hand painted the drop of blood on the atomic symbol on the tie with acrylic paint.

British artist Tome Knowles has created an amazing project to create Tree Drawing — images created by pens attached to tree branch tips! Tree drawings are produced using simple drawing tools attached as freehand extensions to the tips of tree branches. In collaboration with the wind and local weather conditions, calligraphic gestures and automatic drawing readings are recorded on paper. Like signatures each drawing reveals the different qualities and characteristics of each tree. The image is drawn in random, like a kind of automatic drawing.

The art of facial makeups in Chinese operas boasts a long history. In ancient China, there was a form of dance called nuo which was performed at ritual ceremonies to frighten off the ghosts and evil souls and to relieve people of epidemics. Masks were used by performers when they danced. In some areas the nuo ritual ceremonies were later transformed into theatrical performances. Another example of using masks was that of Prince Lanling of the Northern Qi Period (550-577 A. D. )

Facial makeups are a special art in Chinese operas which distinctly show the appearances of different roles as well as their dispositions and moral qualities by means of artistic exaggeration combined with truthful portrayal and symbolism. Facial makeups also serve to express praise or condemnation toward the characters.

Different colours such as red, yellow, blue, white, black, purple, green, gold and silver are used for facial makeups. The main colour in a facial makeup symbolizes the disposition of the character. Red indicates devotion, courage and uprightness. Yellow signifies fierceness, ambition and cool-headedness. Blue represents staunchness, fierceness and astuteness. White suggests sinisterness, treacherousness, suspiciousness and craftiness. Black symbolizes roughness and fierceness. Purple stands for uprightness, sophistication and cool-headedness. Gold and silver colours are usually used for gods and spirits.

Facial makeups are not only a special art in Chinese operas, but also an art of ornamental design, and have become a new variety in Chinese painting.

There are many parts in chinese music, i want choose a one which related to ART.
